The Code of Warm Defiance

I didn’t create a code of living because life was easy. I wrote it because my heart demanded it of me. I wrote it in 2014 … the year my perfect storm nearly destroyed me.

Warm Defiance was born from my perfect storm. Through grief, I learned that I needed more than just surviving … I needed a compass. Something honest, human, and simple enough to guide me through the painful moments and towards the beautiful ones.

It grew out of the understanding that I cannot always control life, but I can control how I show up in it.

My code became a reminder to stay open, stay grateful, seek beauty, forgive myself, honor memory, protect my spirit, and carry beauty forward even on the days it feels heavy.

Warm Defiance is not just a philosophy … it is the way I survived, healed, and eventually learned to rise. It is also my way of offering a hand to anyone walking their own difficult path.

If my poems or stories help someone feel less alone, then this code has already served its purpose.

This is why I wrote it…
This is why I live by it…
And this is why I share it.
